Jude Law excited about 360 role
 6 August 2012

Jude Law has revealed that he was drawn to his new movie 360 because of its multicultural and multilingual aspect.

The British star plays Michael Daly, a businessman in a hollow marriage, who the audience first encounter when he's waiting to meet an escort. His decision to remain faithful to his wife sparks a series of events which ripple around the globe via Paris, London, Bratislava, Rio, Denver and Phoenix, before eventually returning, 360 degrees, to where the chain began.
Jude, 39, who co-stars with Rachel Weisz, said: "I was excited about being in something with multiple languages, and it's very much about humans being humans and trying to do the right thing.
"Yet it's in all these different languages, and I got to meet all these wonderful actors from around the world."
He added: "Something Fernando [Meirelles, the director] said to me before I started, which really warmed me to this project, was that everyone in it is trying to do the right thing.
"Michael is a normal, regular, flawed human being. There's nothing particularly special or spectacular about him. He's just a regular Joe. He's working hard but at the same time kind of missing his life. He wants to do right by his family and do right by himself."
:: 360 is released in cinemas on Friday, August 10.

Some Jude Law' scenes from Anna Christie

Some Jude Law' scenes from Anna Christie on stage last year
On August 5th 2012

Last year in this period  the play Anna Christie started, where our Jude was fabulouse....For the unlucky "girls" who didn't see him on stage...dear, let's have a look at few moments of his interpretation..... just a little before the third minute! ;)!

360 (3 stars)

Overly-complicated plotting lets down underplayed performances from Jude Law and Rachel Weisz

In spite of a high-visibility, award-laden personnel – the writer of The Queen and Frost/Nixon, Peter Morgan; the director of City of God and The Constant Gardener, Fernando Meirelles; Anthony Hopkins, Jude Law and Rachel Weisz among the cast – this weighty worldwide web-of-life met with a lukewarm response at its Toronto premiere last year, and was slow in finding UK distribution.
Clearly it suffered from the fact that this sort of structure – multiple lives that touch and then split off in ways that emphasise both our separateness and our deep connections – has become a cliché, and an unsatisfying one at that. Looked at coolly, 360 has its successful elements and sequences. Law, Hopkins and Weisz, playing characters variously troubled by historical and current sexual indiscretions, are all unusually underplayed, and all good. The cinematography, by Adriano Goldman, is supple and elegant. The problem is that there is way, way too much going on, and limited depth. Morgan piles sub-plot on to sub-plot – infidelity! Eastern European sex traffic! Alcoholism! Blackmail! Rehabilitation of sex offenders! - as if he’s simply set himself a personal challenge to out-web Guillermo Arriaga (writer of Amores Perros, 21 Grams and Babel).
The consequence of this dubious ambition is that no character has time to develop, and crazed coincidences are required to keep them all in the required loop of interconnectedness. Morgan’s dialogue, meanwhile, is yet more clunkingily expositional than usual. The global success of The Queen was doubtless partly down to Morgan’s style of spelling things out for the benefit of the dullest-witted viewer; but in a film that affects to embrace complexity, his literalism is an awkward fit; and people are too prone to the sort of dramatic personality conversions that only happen in the movies.

Jude Law in Italy again???

In a recent interview for the Italian newspaper "La Repubblica", the charming Jude Law said the period when he was in Italy doing "The Mr Ripley's talent" was amazing and the goldest of his life and he 'd like to come back again, but in order to work with directors like Nanni Moretti, Garrone or Sorrentino. However he knows that he would have to know Italian language to have this chance and this fact would be an opportunity to spend more time here in Italy.

Oh Jude we, your Italian fans, are looking forward you'll decide to do it! :)

Waiting for it...Let's watch this wonderful scene from "The Mr Ripley's talent"!

Watch: Impressive 6 Minute Clip From 'Anna Karenina' Starring Keira Knightley, Jude Law & Aaron Johnson....a very serious Jude Law, a weird hair cut but...well he still the one...:)

The fall filmgoing season won't be lacking film's of ambition, from Paul Thomas Anderson's 65mm look at the formation of a cult in "The Master" to Baz Luhrmann's 3D take on "The Great Gatsby" to the fantastical razzle dazzle of Ang Lee's 3D "Life Of Pi." But also aiming squarely for your eyes and heart as well is Joe Wright's "Anna Karenina" and this generous six minute clip showcases a film that is swinging all the way to fences.
Preceeding the Film4 promo clip, director Joe Wright explains that the production utilized a rundown theater for the entirety of the shoot, with over 100 interconnected sets build for use in the film, and boy does he ever make the most of the it. This sequence moves with a fluidity we don't get all that often, running from a beautiful ballroom -- with a ceiling that opens to show a fireworks display, in a particularly great shot -- and ending in Anna's chambers, where she has a bracing conversation with Alexei. There is a sort of great theatricality and decadence both in performances and visually that you'll either roll with...or won't...but it really, really worked for this writer. It feels like one of the great costume dramas of yore, but with a interesting contemporary flavor and approach. And the performances from Keira Knightley, Jude Law and Aaron Johnson are compelling, even as the tones shift throughout this clip.
Give it a spin below. "Anna Karenina" opens in the U.K. on September 7th and in the U.S. on November 9th.

Wes Anderson Wants Johnny Depp & Jude Law For New Film

Basking in the happy glow of critical and commercial success for Moonrise Kingdom, Director Wes Anderson reportedly has his quirky sights set on Jude Law and Johnny Depp for starring roles in his next as yet untitled project.  He also want’s Angela Lansbury of Murder She Wrote fame to join his usual cast of more familiar faces.
As always Anderson is also expected to turn to his winsome muse Bill Murray alongside habitual collaborators Owen Wilson, Jeff Goldblum, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Edward Norton and Jason Schwartzman.
No news yet on plot or possible characters, but rest assured Wes Anderson is probably safely wrapped in tweed somewhere, figuring these whimsical things out for us on a broken vintage typewriter.
It also remains to be seen whether or not his ambition of convincing Jude Law and Johnny Depp to forgo their usual salaries for the chance to wear a choice of retro shoes, facial hair and novelty hats proves realistic.

Jude Law urges us to Save the Arctic in new Greenpeace advert

Jude Law urges us to Save the Arctic in new Greenpeace advert

The actor and Radiohead collaborate with Greenpeace to produce the video ‘A Homeless Polar Bear in London' as part of their Save the Arctic campaign.

The video shows a Polar bear wandering around London lost in an unfamiliar habitat.
Radiohead provide the music to the advert, whilst Jude Law provides the voiceover: “Our leaders won’t listen to her, but they’ll listen to you. What do you have to say to those who want to destroy the Arctic?”
The video was released as part of Greenpeace's Save the Arctic campaign which they say "aims to protect the Arctic from oil drilling, industrial fishing and militarization".
Greenpeace claims that “oil companies are using melting sea ice to drill for more of the oil that is causing global warming in the first place."
In a statement on the Greenpeace website, Jude Law wrote: “As the Arctic sea ice melts, polar bears are being forced to go far beyond their normal habitat to find food and look after their young. This film is a powerful expression of how our fates are intertwined, because climate change is affecting all of us no matter where we live.
“Right now a handful of oil companies are trying to carve up the Arctic for the sake of their next quarterly results but a global movement is growing to stop them. I stand with hundreds of thousands of others who think the area should be made into a sanctuary, protected from corporate greed for good.”
