Jude Law has revealed his teenage son has been giving him lessons in modern day London street slang - to try and make him cool
Looking dapper in a smart suit, Jude opened up about his family life, living in LA and how his kids have banned him from the school gates because he’s an embarrassing dad.
The star blames the snub on the dodgy haircut and beard he wore to play Aleksei Karenina – husband to Keira’s unhappy Anna in the 19th century high-society Russian drama.
“My kids banned me from collecting them from school unless I was wearing a hat and hid,” he laughs.
“My oldest, Rafferty, who’s almost 16, has been teaching me some London street slang because he wants me to be a bit cooler.
“At the moment he thinks I’m really uncool,” Jude admits.
“He says funny things like, ‘Bun those, they’re moist’ and ‘Allow it’.
“Apparently ‘bun those’ means it’s terrible and ‘allow it’ means can I have that. It’s utterly bizarre. It’s like a new language. I sound bloody ridiculous saying it so I’ve decided to stop.”
Jude, who had Rafferty, Iris, 11 and Rudy, nine, with ex Sadie Frost, 47, adds: “Rafferty is a good kid. He went through that teenage phase when he was about 13 and has slowly grown out of it.
“If I was lucky he’d give me a monosyllabic answer to things. If not, he’d just give me a grunt. Now he educates me in the music scene and he gives me advice on what I should be wearing.
“I just advise him on the sorts of films he should be watching and explain to him that it’s important to treat people the way you want to be treated.”
Jude became a father for the fourth time in 2009 after a brief fling with US undies model Samantha Burke, 27 produced Sophia, now three.
The Alfie star splits his time between his multi-million pound home in Highgate, North London and LA. His own parents were both teachers but now run their own drama school and theatre in Vaudelnay, western France.
And Jude, real name David, says he’s just a normal dad.
“Spending all day every day with beautiful women like Cameron Diaz and Keira isn’t hard but I don’t really see much difference between myself and any other working dad,” he said.
“Whether you’re a plumber, teacher or a nurse, we all get out of bed, go to work, do our job, and at the end of the day go home and look after the kids.
“That’s it. If you work and have a family you’re a busy dad.
“Simple as that. It doesn’t matter what you do.”

Jude Law Provides Update on SHERLOCK HOLMES 3.
Though Robert Downey Jr. is currently busy shooting the third installment of his Marvel franchise Iron Man, he has another popular series that’s poised to get the threequel treatment at some point in the near future. The success of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (it grossed over $540 million worldwide) spurred Warner Bros. to get working on another entry in the action sleuth series, as the studio hired Iron Man 3 scribe Drew Pearce to handle the screenplay last October.
Word on the project since then has been quiet, but Steve recently sat down with Jude Law at the Toronto Film Festival to talk about his upcoming romantic drama Anna Karenina. Towards the end of the conversation, Law provided a brief update on Sherlock Holmes 3, expressing his excitement at the prospect of reuniting with the Sherlock team for another go-around. Hit the jump to see what he had to say.Towards the end of the interview, Steve asked Law if he knew when they were going to start shooting Sherlock Holmes 3:
It’s a minor update, but Law certainly seems game to return for more Sherlock Holmes adventures. He and Downey Jr. are likely mulling over a number of projects in the near future, but Law recently committed to starring in Wes Anderson’s upcoming The Grand Budapest Hotel.

We’re a very happy team and we have a lot of fun and we also think there’s still a lot of legs in the duo.”

Jude Law 'Pestered' Wes Anderson To Join New Film
'I'm very excited to be a part of that Wes Anderson family,' actor tells MTV News about joining the cast of 'The Grand Budapest Hotel.'
Right now is a good time to be friends with Wes Anderson. The writer/director, known for his unique visual style and idiosyncratic characters, regularly pulls from a pool of frequent collaborators, and he just scored the second biggest hit of his career with "Moonrise Kingdom."
For his next film, which is reportedly titled "The Grand Budapest Hotel," Anderson is calling on a mix of familiar actors and some talent he has never worked with before, including Johnny Depp. One of the newest additions to the "Wes Anderson family," Jude Law, spoke with MTV News' Josh Horowitz during the Toronto International Film Festival for his new film "Anna Karenina" and shared his excitement to finally work with the director.
Law told MTV News that his role in "The Grand Budapest Hotel" is something that's been a long time coming. "I've been a huge fan of Wes," he said. "I pestered him with emails for years, saying 'I want to live in one of your films and I'd like to be in one of your films.' "
News of Anderson's wish list appeared in July, but we haven't heard much in the way of production details since then. Law, however, confirmed that Anderson should be shooting shortly. "[Anderson] sent me this wonderful script," he said. "I think we start work on that in January."
While Law hesitated to talk about the project at length, he did confirm Depp's involvement and the size of his own role. "It will be the usual team [of actors]. I have heard Johnny Depp is indeed playing a key role in it," he said. "I think my role is fleeting, but I'm very excited to be a part of that Wes Anderson family."
Check out everything we've got on " The Grand Budapest Hotel."
